Almost every other day, a file called Test.xml gets created on my C drive
(root folder). Does anyone know why this could happen and which program
could be responsible ? Opening the file with Notepad displays the following
:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1'?>

I delete the file and it back again the next day. Any ideas, anyone ?

1. Do some clean-boot troubleshooting, looking for the test.xml file
after you re-enable each item and after you start a program.

Clean Boot - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=310353
and How to Troubleshoot By Using the Msconfig Utility in Windows XP -

2. Is the computer 100% virus and malware-free? If you think so, what
did you do to determine this? Here are some general malware removal
steps:

Post back with results of above troubleshooting for more help.

Audit the file. Type audit in help to see how. Read carefully.
