Well, I just joined officially a little while ago and I didn't notice the date because all I saw was Tom's Hardware welcoming me. I understand what you are saying but you really don't have to be rude about it. By the looks of it you have been here quite a while, thank you for the warm welcome to a newcomer.

No problem anytime. Normally I am warmer but as a moderator I look for what may be "curious" behavior. Like how you would have found the one post by a "Gamer Girl", and then offer up an overly helpful slightly personal reply, vs... I don't know, introducing yourself to the forum as a new user.

This is a safe space for all users, don't do that again.

I will enjoy reading about this world and learning. I learn by doing. So have patience please. I finally want to try a game Fallout 76. Set in my home state. So I'll start with the set up for that. I'm 71 this month!!!!! Aging sneaks up on us as fast as an hour hand on a clock. I use this term; "I used to ...." FARRRRR tooo much.
I used to be .... pretty smart!!! Unlike Rush Limbaugh, half my brain is gone!!!!!, not even tied behind my back!!!! And I don't like it.
I remember Tom's Hardware from WAYYYY back, it has always been one of the very best sites to to to for anything --- about computers.
I got into computers about 1992, even before Widows for Workgroups!!!!! HAAAAAAA, so there, I know something you "Kids" don't!!!!
I configured Compaq PDA's to synch with PC's when they first came out!!!!
I was the first in my area to use a cell phone to connect my laptop to the internet to give tech support on weekends so I didn't have to stay home by the land line for nothing!!!!
Now I'm as dumb as a box of rocks compared to you "kids". The things you guys know, literally boggles my mind.
Have a charitable heart toward those you give support to. Have patience and don't speak over their heads or you will be good for nothing. Except maybe programming!!! Some people don't play well with others. (President Trump comes to mind - maybe he still thinks he is on that TV show???)
One of my employers said, I don't care if you don't know something, we can teach you that, What I DO care about is that you enjoy the people you work with - attitude. (sometimes a soft toy would come over the top of the cubicle... etc. )

Hi I'm Kat. Ive been interested in learning about different phones and their issues. Mainly because either I've messed them up or I get one that already is. Right now my main issue is my LG Stylo 2 through Boost. I was told before I bought it it was unlocked. But it isn't.

Hi, I'm Matt, I'm a PC enthusiast. Over the years I've solely used Tom's for quick solutions to common PC problems. But, now I'd like to get more involved with the community and possibly get more into the IT industry itself, professionally. My hear has always been with computers, since windows 95.
My experience has been mainly consumer based PC building. Never ventured into the IT profession; instead, I found myself working to help people in emergencies. I'm a Paramedic, and have been for the last 10 years. It's been a great journey and will be for until I retire; however, computers is where I'd like to grow further.

Interesting fact about me: I'm great at saving money! Best way to save is not to spend it.
