oh, not “we” or you specifically should have to give a $hit but obviously you take one in the mouth and are "fundament"ally come bucket swilling to swallow. Seriously though if you don’t care don’t post in my thread asking such silly questions.

Wow. You sound as dirty as your mom did after I gave her a silver dollar and put a beer bottle in her hindquarters.

Only you're prettier than she is.

Something is wrong obviously but that doesnt mean it is the installers fault. Just dont assume if you had his system in front of you that you could get it working. I am happy for your success maybe I will change my mind again and if I waste my time and money again such is life.

3.) Driver errors after replacing nVidia cards (because nVidia drivers are made to crash ATI drivers).

All except #3 are also nVidia problems
Actually they crash Matrox Cards, and S3 cards too (and probably others). I'd also say that #3 IS an nVidia problem.
The scary thing, if you read Guru3D's description of their Det removal tools (RIP is my recommendation) they cause problems for nVidia users too! So it's an nV problem even for nV users.

People want to upgrade their own rigs, but don't take the effort to learn about their parts the way they would when installing a new part in their cars. They naturally assume they have some apptitude with their computer because they use it everyday. It's sometimes funny how wrong they can be.

BTW, how do I mod my R9600Pro into and R9800XT?

The AIW 9600 Pro was an easy install for my, since my previous card was a Radeon DDR. A lot of users are incorporating their new card into a new system, or a total overhaul, which usually requires a clean install anyway. And the kids in here know how to eradicate old drivers, etc.

Like me he is not willing to reformat and start over. Anyhow who wants to start from scratch formating their HD and reinstalling all the updates and patches and tweaking settings for all the software and peripherals (dont forget rebooting over and over) can have at it. The young have fun wasting their time doing it but I personally dont want to do it unless I am upgrading my motherboard and the rest that entails. It wouldnt be a problem if that REALLY only took 30 minutes but many here always dismiss all the work it really takes installing EVERYTHING not just an OS. Sorry, but after all the reboots it would take me at least two 8 hour days to get things back to what I have now.

You're better off buying a Dell. Anyone who needs 16 hours to reinstall their OS and programs has no business upgrading their videocard.

It takes a whole 45 seconds to reboot. I couldn't imagine living throught a 45 second reboot. OMG! [/sarcasm]

R9600pro to R9800XT huh... then i can get my Gf4 mx to a Ti!

Athlon XP 1800+ (1.52ghz) O/Ced.

IBM 20gb 5400rpm 2mb+WD 40gb 5400rpm 2mb
Creative SB Live! 5.1 Digital

To mod your 9600 into a 9800XT open your case while the machine is running a heavy-duty 3d app and take a steamy yellow pi*s right on the videocard and it should magically double its memory and jack up its clock and mem speeds and its fan will morph into that of the 9800XT. Duh...!

AHHH MOTHERLAND!!!!!

I tried that but it didn't work. Was I supposed to take a dump or a leak? I took a dump right in the case and it's not working.

What if I've been drinking alot of beer (gotta get rid of the last of the Nectar from Upper Canada). My pee is probably very clear right now. I'll wait 'til tomorrow to try the mod.

Will adding Asparagus hell turn it into Hercules card?

Will adding vitamins give me a Volt-Modded card?

You can use Norton Ghost or something similar. Then if you take more than three hours you should pay someone to do it for you.

I dont' know about detanator destroyer.. but i've never had problems uninstalling drivers. and reinstalling new drivers for new things.
Even though i wish i knew how to use linux , windows has a fairly descent driver manager.. i mean it's point and click.

You shut down.. swap cards. Turn on.. install new drivers.
Something must happen when people by dells and gateways.. the systems must just not accept upgrades at all.

You must be an uncomprehending child to comment like that. Everyone like you must play one game and work with one program and that is it. Never do anything else with their pc but reinstall their OS over and over when they have a new video card. Your so out to lunch I can hardly believe it. No, clue whatsoever.

Balls, said the Queen if I had them I would be king!

OMG why didnt I think of that, LOL (sarcasm). Think before you post and say reinstall your OS from a backup. I dont even want to explain this one. You ever watch something so funny/gross you can hardly watch it you have to change the channel. That is how I feel about your answer. Incredible!

1. Do your dear brother upgrade his video every week, then why does he need to reinstall OS over and over?

2. I usually reinstall my system every 6 months or when something goes wrong. It only took me about 5-7 hours to install stuffs back.

Keep in mind my dual boot box's window partition has approx 25 games/applications, and about 10 on the Redhat(linux) partition.

PS. I hope that kind of detail will terminate your evil flamy thought.

1. He doesnt. Where did you read that?
2. I fix my problems and restore with a backup when I cant so I dont have to reinstall everything every six months. You obviously like making work for yourself.

Is that all you have installed then my system is far richer in installed software.

No, evil thoughts just remembering why I post so little here.

You said that youself, only one reinstall is needed as final solution. However your brother needed multi reinstalls so i guess he has several cards at his desk. :frown:

I fail to see why i am doing more works than you when you take three times the amount to restore a system. 😱

far richer in installed software
I take it that you have at least 60 games/applications installed on the system? And do you run scripts to run them in auto mode otherwise you must grow like six hands to use so many programs at once.

Please keep the flame consistent too. 😎

PS.good old flame war is cool.

You are just sad if it takes you more than three hours with using Norton Ghost. Besides your brother probably would have saved time and had less frustration actually just formatting his windows partition than calling tech support and returning the "defective" card three times over. Of course blaming the manufacturer is just so much easier than accepting ones stupidity. 16 hours to reformat lol. I reformatted my computer in a little less than three hours, with fully installing all the applications , tweaking all the windows settings, and of course the item that takes the most time RESTARTING, without Norton Ghost.
