First, Windows is terrible at removing drivers, especially nV. You may think they are gone but they aren't. The only true ways to get rid of all remenants are; drive cleaner, Detonator RIP/Destoryer (depending on OS), or a re-format.

Second the RS300/9100IGP comes with an R9100 class (DX8.1)vpu onboard, and the RS480 will have a DX9 class (likely R9600/SE performance)integrated vpu, it should hit stores by early spring. One advantage, easy triple monitor support (already availible with the RS300.

BTW, the full version of LOTR is about 12+hrs.

I have way more than sixty. Try harder you have poor reasoning skills. Your not even following what was said or understanding what was said in this thread by me. Are you really so slow. What does multitasking have to do with this topic at all. Who cares how many programs I have running at the same time. It is what anyone would want installed so they can use it when they want to that matters. I cant believe how dim witted your acting. Your comments are so off base the best I can hope for you is that your goading me just to see what I will type next.

Talk all the trash you want I wont answer again. Stew in your own inane remarks.

Balls, said the Queen if I had them I would be king!

I guess your another genious that needs me to spell things out since obviously you dont have enough PC experience to figure it out.

Nevermind I dont care anymore. If your too stupid to figure out how stupid your comments are then I cant help you.

Then why the hell don't you explain what takes you so long to reload and update all data / apps.

Genious!

I'll admit that after 3 days, my comp isn't back to where it was before I reloaded it... I've just been too lazy to reinstall my games. However, it took me less than 5 hours to get it back up to the point where I have the basics. Are you on dial-up or something? Is this why updating / reloading takes so long?

I try to avoid reloading as much as possible. It's a tedious process. However, once I've exhausted all other possibilities and the PC still doesn't work the way I feel it should... I'll do a reload. You can spend more time complaining about having to do it than actually doing it.

You haven't told anybody anything. All you've said to everybody is that your brother couldn't get his "defective" ATI card working and flamed just about everybody in this post when they suggested helpful solutions to you. Then you claim reformatting a PC takes 16 hours and yet whenever anybody asks you why it takes two to three times the amount of time any competent technician can do it in, you claim you have lots of programs, restarting takes too long, and of course followed up by more flaming.

Not back to the way it was, but you are better off that way. I do the same.

Reinstalling/patching all your games could take a long time for sure, but I just don't bother reinstalling 80% of them and if ever I want to play an old one, install it then. Common sense right?

You're obviously so much smarter than the rest of the world.

I don't understand how it's possible for you to spend 16 hours reloading everything. Do you install every piece of software even if you aren't using it? I suppose I could spend 16 hours loading software if I loaded every game I've played since Doom and installed every version of 3dmax, photoshop, dreamweaver, etc that I've owned, but seriously.....

Make your life easier and install the videocard the right way. The problem isn't us or our posts here, it's your inability to realize that it's in your best interest to reformat your PC and start fresh with a new videocard. Apparently you've had a number of problems and owned an aweful lot of videocards. I would think that you would get a clue by now.

While your at it, dig deeper into your closet and find all your old floppy disks too. That will add some time. Hey maybe that's the problem; Maybe he has the Windows XP Floppy version... 250 or so floppies. Oh it doesn't come on floppies. Hmm, well maybe it's time to trade in that 2X CD-Rom he pulled out of his old 1994 486DX2 system. :)

Just having some fun, forgive me. But seriously, depending what you COULD load it could be 16 or even 30 hours. But what you SHOULD load... I'd say 3-8 hours should be plenty time. Especially if you have and organized software collection and organized backups. if you have to dig through desk drawers, hardware boxes, etc. to find everything, it could take a long time.

Maybe he has to copy all his mp3's to floppies first and then he has to recopy them to the hard drive. I could see that taking a year or two after you split each mp3 into 6 pieces and then you have to join the pieces again.

Go buy a back up hard drive or a DVD burner!

Beets will give you a bling bling HSF...guaranting you to hit 550,850. Oh yeah...it doesn't take up an extra PCI slot!

Not sure about 30 hours reload time, maybe thats the case for a large network server thats has everything on it?

Also keep patches on the hard drive make your reload much faster than redownload them.

I think it was <b>Less Filling</b> vs <b>Tastes Great</b>.

Can't remember anymore.

BTW, can you answer <A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=383666#383666" target="_new">THIS</A> question?

Yangster's been trying to find out for a while.

I thought you might know what the standard Gigacube/GeXcube warranty is.

Well, if he has dialup and doesn't have sp1 or drivers downloaded, that would take forever. i forget all about that sometimes as using a cable modem has spoiled me.

And no, I can't answer the GeCube warranty ? either. Reviews on the 9600 Pro are plentiful but don't mention a warranty, and most searchs come back in a foreign language. Plus I haven't used one. Hope someone can help him soon.

I have to say though I HATE MS' security holes, and their delay of SP2. SP2 would make it so much nicer. Backing up patches is essential now. N-Ghost does make things simpler though.

The nicest thing of all though is backing everything up en-mass to DVD-RAM. Ahhhh that's it baby! 😎

Freakin' MS! 😡

16 hours??? Damn. I can do a full gentoo stage 1 install (full os + all software downloaded and compiled from source) in 8 hours.

Some day I'll be rich and famous for inventing a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet.
