Hi Guys,

I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti GPU and Ive just purchased a Samsung CJG5 1440p 144hz Monitor.

The outputs available on the back of my GPU are Mini HDMI, DVI and VGA and on the monitor there are 2 HDMIs and 1 Displayport.

At the moment there is not the option for 144hz in NVIDIA control panel or in display settings. I assume that this is because I am using a DVI-HDMI adapter.

Given my GPU what are my options to run the monitor at 144hz 1440p?

Thank you massively in advance

Can I not get a cable that goes from DVI in my computer to HDMI on the monitor? Even if I could get 120Hz at 1440p I would still see that as a massive win

You've already tried DVI to Hdmi. Hdmi input on the monitor is limited to 60Hz according to the manual.

There are DVI to DP active adapters (which you'll need to convert from DVI to DP) but couldn't say if it will give you 120Hz.

Ive tried DVI to HDMI by using an HDMI cable that plugs into a HDMI to DVI adapter at the back of my GPU. I think perhaps the HDMI DVI adapter is causing the problem and that perhaps if I had a cable that was capable of 144hz from DVI to HDMI then it would work?

There are 2 HDMI ports in the monitor, one of them is limited to 60hz and the other can go up to 144hz

Boju is correct. Even if you could get your current video card to work, there is absolutely no way that your frames will come any where close to 120. I recently sold a GTX 970 4GB card that I had to run in 900 x 600 to get decent frames in Far Cry 5 at the lowest of settings.
