I’m trying to disassemble my PS4 while following a tutorial and the first step was to remove the hard drive, but the screw holding the hard drive in was very small and I couldn’t find a screwdriver that fit it. I only want to reapply thermal paste, clean the fan and possibly replace the fan since I have an extra. Do you think I can do that without removing the hard drive?Well this is a easy to tough answer. Easy if your the kind of person who can open up the unit and do a through cleaning to it if you can't than you need to get it to someone who can.
Not everyone can so if you never have or don't feel comfortable find somebody, as for me it comes easy but others don't have the same skills not a big deal.
You can even watch some youtube videos on how to open up the unit and clean it.
Good luck.![]()
It it a small Philips screw. If this is stopping you at this point than security screws later on surely will stop you in your tracks.the first step was to remove the hard drive, but the screw holding the hard drive in was very small and I couldn’t find a screwdriver that fit it.
Dust....5 years old now and the fan noise has gotten pretty bad...
