Question What can I do to minimize PS4 pro fan noise?

My PS4 is almost 5 years old now and the fan noise has gotten pretty bad. It starts going on the second I enter a fps game, even if I’m only on the menu screen. It also gets really hot. What can I do to minimize the heat and sound?

Well this is a easy to tough answer. Easy if your the kind of person who can open up the unit and do a through cleaning to it if you can't than you need to get it to someone who can.
Not everyone can so if you never have or don't feel comfortable find somebody, as for me it comes easy but others don't have the same skills not a big deal.

You can even watch some youtube videos on how to open up the unit and clean it.

I’m trying to disassemble my PS4 while following a tutorial and the first step was to remove the hard drive, but the screw holding the hard drive in was very small and I couldn’t find a screwdriver that fit it. I only want to reapply thermal paste, clean the fan and possibly replace the fan since I have an extra. Do you think I can do that without removing the hard drive?

It it a small Philips screw. If this is stopping you at this point than security screws later on surely will stop you in your tracks.

Google a PS-4 dismantle tool kit.

Good for you starting the process but a quick online buy to get the correct tools needed will give you success.

You could cheat without the tool kit for these like in a video I will post.

Clean it. Strip it so you can get to the cooler and give it a good clean to get rid of all the dust. You also might have insects to clear out too as some love the heat electronics generate
