So what causes a mouse to go bad? I am having similar issues with my cursor freezing when I move my mouse. I stuck a new mouse on, and the issue went away.
But for me it isn't as simple as throwing one mouse away and buying another. I am disabled and need the mouse style I have. It is a razer Naga 2014 left handed edition.
I have another mouse around here some where, same style. If I can find it, maybe I can turn 2 into 1 as I am pretty sure they are no longer available.
But what could be causing the issue? Why is it only sometimes and not all the time?
This started after I hit 4.7 Ghz on my O.C. I tried dialing back the o.c. I even tried uninstalling all of the games and game stuff I installed. Nope. Put a different mouse on it and BAM! everything works fine. There is no mouse specific driver and the drive in Win10 is up to date.
Everywhere else I have posted about this I can't get an answer.

Nothing lasts forever. There could just be a part that fails. Motherboards can fail, video card, even CPUs. It just happens. If it's failed, then it's failed. Nothing you can usually do other than replace the failed part. It sucks, but it happens.

A lot of time it is the surface the mouse is on. Some will generate debris that will clog the optical sensors on the mouse. Try to clean the underside of the mouse with canned air.
