i brought a 788$ gaming pc from the pawn shop here's my previous thread if you want to read about the specs http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3648307/maximus-gene-brought-788-gaming-worth.html

the case is looks pretty cool but i can't tell what case it is, it has a nob on the top that controls the fans? maybe? Honestly I'm not sure if it's hooked up or not but once i move it to up or down nothing happens here's the case

The case is the Graphite 600T. I have the exact same case but in black. In it's original configuration it has white led fans on front and on top and it doesn't have a fan on the side panel. The blue side fan and some other minor case modifications seem to have been done by the previous system owner.
it's weird because one of the pictures my LED fan was blue now it's white? how did it change colors and how did i do it? because i didn't? it doesn't seem to be automatic because it's been the color white for a while now

well i don't see it as a rip off because i would of spent 1,000$ for parts that's not even maybe worth it? not sure but i don't have a clue if i gotten ripped off or not ( still new to dual graphics ) i have motherboards that can do that but don't know anything about the configurations and don't know if it was worth the price or not but i make enough money to just throw around and make it back in a week. I am thinking of upgrading the CPU to a i7 but i seen some people saying the i5 2500k is the samething as the 3700k I7? and the i don't think i was ripped off because the game i play is one game called combatarms been playing it since 2009 and still play it till this day i don't play any other games then that. iv'e been that way since my teen years. and i do editing in sonyvegaspro to upload videos to youtube other then that i don't play intense graphic games on my PC

thank you but i don't understand is the little nob on the top does it need to be hooked up to control some sort of speed control or something because the Motherboard i have is MAXIMUS IV GENE-Z/GEN3 and on that case it has a little button or something that controls the top 2 fans but i still don't understand the fan for the side panel and the intake fan if there's a nob on the top of the case does it control those 2 fans? still don't know but i will be looking up the manual

That case does come with a fan controller that supports 4 case fans so the nob on the top controls all the fans that are plugged into the case fan controller. Unfortunately that fan controller was pretty bad, because it supported a pretty small fan operating range and after a year or two it usually failed and then if you case was still under warranty Corsair would send you a new fan controller part. So most of that case owners preferred to disconnect that fan controller and plug all their fans into the motherboard. However you don't know whether the previous owner was still using it for controlling a fan or two. So you could try to open the case and check if anything is still connected to the fan controller, or try to use the nob and check if it controls any of the system fans. Good luck.

Absolutely.
For any used PC, you personally need to do a full wipe and reinstall of all drives in teh system.
Doubly so for a pawn shop system.

You have no idea what the previous owner(s) had in there.

well the pawn shop powered everything on while i was in there nothing was on the computer

thank you

Just cause you don't see anything on there doesn't mean something isn't on there... you could have malware/trojans/viruses. on top of that god knows what files maybe in a hidden partition or folder.

Why risk it? Just reinstall windows, do a complete format of all drives and repartition them as needed.

okay will do! and the person at the pawn shop that sold me the gaming pc said he has a gaming pc himself and said he has 5 monitors running off one GPU is that possible? sounds impossible

And you trust them?
And all the previous owners?

Did someone install a keylogger in there? Right now, you have zero idea.

Ryzen 3 1200, 8gb, 1050ti is $680 (still need monitor and speakers) and that's not even the best deal. There were some $100 cheaper. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883102069 I just picked one with a "gaming" case with "gaming" mouse and kb. Although I said for $800, not $1000, with all peripherals since that's what your $788 used has. Brand new, better performance, no upgrade or spending extra money needed. Compared to a 6 year old used pc, it's the obvious choice.
