Hey,

Yesterday my pc crashed and after that I cant even boot the computer normally, It takes a long time to start, it runs hard drive checks and then boots up Windows. After a short while it basically stops working completely, especially when trying to browse any folder. I cant even boot the computer via win10 usb, since all I get is a black screen after initial loading.

If this is a hardware issue, is there a way to check it somehow? I dont have access to any external hard drives etc. atm. All help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the swift answers. I assumed that it might be the hd that is the culprit. I do have some files I would like to save from the drive. Any further advice how to do this before its completely busted. Thanks!

As I hinted above, it needs a rest from spinning all the time. You'll have better chances of recovery if it's only working when you're running recovery software. The laptop is probaby fine except the drive so buy another and instal Windows. Activation should be automatic when you take it online.

Then when the old disk has given up your personal data and some settings, you can transfer it straight over.
