What cpu to get?

So I will be playing Star citizen, GTA V, Arma 3, Mount & Blade Warband & Bannerlord omce it comes out, also Total war titles, right now mostly Rome 2. I'm also thinking of recording and streaming and ofc editing those videos.

I want a fast pc, my old pc was about 800€ when bought. I have about 2000€ to spare. So 6 cores would be good. 1080p 144hz and in the future 1440p 144h gaming.

My cpu budget would be around 400€
ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM would be 500€
So if there is any choice for a 6 core, I would like to take that. Also, how much does slower and more cores affect fps in games with GTX 1080?

Honestly, just get the 6700k or 6600k, both will be just fine for what you're looking to do.

Well 6700k would be my absolute minimum for a processor. Why not a 6 core? I have money to spare and I've seen 6 core processors under 500€. Isn't 6 core better for streaming, recording while gaming and occasionally hosting servers for different co-op games?

May I recommend the i7 6800k or the 6850k, slightly same as the 6700k in performance + 2 more cores for a total of 6.
Also be aware that since the 6800k has more cores, single core performance won't be as good as the 6700k but those extra cores might compensate 😉
