What CPU would you suggest for a gaming set up?

I see nothing that impresses with this thing. It looks pretty traditional and the radiator is a bit small. My real problem is that the pump's specs do not list head pressure which is what matters.

The Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultima actually comes with the Swiftech MCP655 which is the prefered pump of watercooling enthusiasts with a head pressure of 10 FT.

Believe me, Swiftech is the only option when it comes to premade kits. I could show you mountains of WC enthusiasts fainting over the MCP655, hell I would tell you right now that if you made a custom WC kit you would end up with the same pump anyway. That is another great thing, if down the road you decide you need more cooling and can just buy a better radiator because you already have a top of the line pump and CPU waterblock.

If you want to blow your tax money away, you might as well blow it up in the right direction. Your Samsung T220 is like a poor man among the rich. The 1680x1050 resolution will not justify your purchase of 3x5870 cards. In fact 1x5850 will do. 2x5870 is a nice overkill if you want the bragging rights or join some contest. So might as well cut on the 3rd GPU so you have some tax money left to pay for the wasted energy the overkill power hungry components will consume. Just thinking green here...

I'll be going with 2x of the 5970s. Someone mention a 3 screen monitor. Anymore info on that? Eyefinity or something of that effect?

Wow! That's more like it, BlaqZero. 3 monitors in eyefinity is a dream... Go for it... I don't have anything to say on it yet but I'd like to see how it turns out with your build...

Hell I can't justify it on my hot little i5 750. A Prolimatech Megahalems could get me to 4.4-4.5 GHz pretty easily.

Do you think Newegg.com would sponsor me with some free shipping or something if I said i would throw their name out on the Vlogs? Or maybe hang one of their banners up on the while I video the assembly? I'll pretty much be getting everything from their except the swiftech water cooling.

Lol, you could try. I once got an Antec 900 for $20 because they screwed up something and looked up how much I order off of them and decided to compensate me nicely, saved $70.

If you are going 23 inch monitors get the Samsung 23 inch series. There was a deal on Slickdeals.net awhile back for 6 23" monitors for $500 and free shipping. I was thinking holy god whoever wants the eyefinity gimmick (sorry no disrespect but its sooo not worth the money ;p) should jump on this deal.

Its about saying "yeah I went there" when I show it off. If I don't go with the eyefinity I'm going to get a decent size monitor.

To be honest, if it were me, I would just stick with a nice 24-30" monitor. I'll be honest, I could never survive the bezels in between the screens, but that is me and the vast majority seem to disagree and therefor eyefinity is for them.

Well if you go Eyefinity know that you will get seriously owned when it comes to AA. Eyefinity has a HUGE problem with AA. There is a guy on youtube with 2 5970s in CFX and anytime he adds ANY AA he gets artifacts and micro stutters like friggin crazy even though the game runs 100+ fps. Be weary of the gimmick they call Eyefinity...

Eyefinity is not a gimmick, not even close. What it is, is NEW. Yeah, Eyefinity isn't perfect because it just came out. Give it a few months.

Eyefinity allow games to do some thing they have been trying to do for years, game with multiple monitors.

Eyefinity is also GREAT for productivity.

If you want a gimmick look at nVidia's 3D vision, PhysX, or ATI's Havoc.

Intel owns Havok.

Stop looking at cpu's and start looking at graphics cards/more screens/resolution. Imagine 3-screens running most modern games at 40+ fps then purchase to suit.

3 22" lcds = £120 x3
displayport adaptor = £80
5770x2 = £230

That's ~ $1000 US after sales tax, you already have the pc capable of maxing it out and you can probably get $200 or so back on the 285gtx + whatever you can get on your current LCD. Stop arsing around with ideas like the i7 is gonna make a difference compared to a 940 BE in gaming. It's not and you're just wasting cash.
