Most of what he says is true AMW. Come on would you spend $350 on that mobo?

If Blaq feels better believing that spending a lot more money gives him a much better pc, so be it. It doesn't change the fact that spending all that money on a gaming rig when you can get the same for what, 1/5th the price is a complete waste of cash.

Oh common!

He wants the best of the best, which means he doesn't care about price for performance.

If his budget was restricted, then yes an i7 would not be the best choice for a pure gaming machine.

That said, he will get all the gaming performance, and perhaps a little bit more, and a good deal more non-gaming app performance with added benefits.

You need to recommend something that fits his needs, not what you would like to see him buy instead.

Thats ok I've decided to go with Intel. Tomshardware had articles on how there difference WAS minute. But what was being compared was pretty funny. They compare AMD's flagship (Phenom II 965 with Intel's i7 920 (not the top of the line from them). Don't get me wrong the AMD is an amazing chip. But I've decided to go with Intel and "waste my money." I just haven't decided which model from intel.

You were always going intel Blaq, that's why I didn't bother with my ace.

You should buy the top i7, make sure you pay the maximum while getting beaten by the bottom end Phenom II.

The Phenom II X4 results were quite different to those recorded when testing with the Core i7 processors, though this was not necessarily a bad thing. When operating at lower clock speeds, the Phenom II X4 did not fair all that well, as we saw a sharp decline in performance. However when clocked at 3.0GHz and beyond, the Phenom II X4 really picked up the pace, and in many cases was able to outclass the Core i7.

In games such as Wolfenstein, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X, BattleForge and Far Cry 2 the Phenom II X4 processors were actually faster when clocked up near 4GHz! This is quite amazing as out of the 9 games tested, the Phenom II X4 series was faster than the Core i7’s in 5 of them. Although the margins were very limited, the Phenom II X4 was found to be faster, and had it just managed to match the Core i7 series with the Radeon HD 5970, we would have been impressed.

Ohreally is the god of clocking, he knows all and can not be proving wrong... you're a joke bro. I've read that article plus the ones from tomshardware. You act like Intel killed your only child and now you want to boycott them. Oh by the way AMD no so good with Crossfire 😉 read up little man. The last time I thought about it IIII was doing crossfire hmmm.

Like I said, you had made up your mind from the start.

Sigh was proven right btw, you are exactly the sort of idiot intel loves.
