So i wanted to turn on XMP because i wanted to run my ram at 2666 mhz and not 3200 mhz because its limited by my cpu. Or atleast look for a xmp profile that has 2666 mhz on it. But unfortunately it had 2 3200 MHZ profiles. I double checked before saving changes by going onto Advanced Mode > A.I Tweaker > DRAM Settings. XMP is enabled but both profiles had 3200 MHZ and no 2666 MHZ profile. they also had different volts or etc for each profile. The reason as to why i also went to Advanced Mode and A.I Tweaker was because in the main BIOS Menu/EzMode Panel it had a XMP Button that turns out to be a drop-down menu and it had "enable and disable" when clicked but once i enabled it. I cant see both the two 3200 mhz profiles hence why i went to Advanced Mode > A.I Tweaker. I only see "enable or disable" so i basically need to manually go to Advanced Mode and A.I Tweaker to check what frequency/mhz the ram was about to run at with that profile But this should be common for ASUS H410 Motherboards's BIOS right?

I did do the turn off XMP and only change Memory Frequency Method and made it 2666 mhz. AND it worked everything seemed normal no issues because i was just clicking chrome, folders, etc. But i wasn't feeling THAT comfortable with it 😅. I'd thought that it'd crash or something IT HAD ME PRAYING FOR MY LIFE 😂

And so i played it safe, rebooted the pc again went to BIOS and reverted the settings to default. Just for reference the default ram speed for my mobo is 2400 MHZ which is already kinda good.

Is there a alternative way to make my ram go to 2666 MHZ safely? or do i just turn off XMP first then change the Memory Frequency to 2666 MHZ? What & Which are the safest options?

Specs are:
Prime H410M-E
i5-10600
1x8 HyperX Fury RGB 3200 mhz (*but due to my motherboard its max is 2666 mhz)

No issues were present before turning on the memory frequency to 2666 mhz and after turning it on.

Note: I actually clicked enabled on xmp but i knew it would black screen bcuz my motherboard is limited to 2933 mhz and 3200 mhz was too much for my cpu AND motherboard so i did Default(F5) and just defaulted the settings back. and went to advanced mode and ai tweaker there after to check what frequency were the profiles in and thats when i found out i don't have a 2666 mhz profile lol.

You could try loading the XMP profile then manually setting the speed to 2666MT/s *if* you have the option. That would require the motherboard to support memory overclocking, the bonus would be that you'd get the (probably tighter) timings of the 3200 speed but slowed down to 2666MT/s for 'the best of both worlds' compromise.

ASUS claims the motherboard supports 2933MT/s so it should have the ability to change speed but I don't have that board to check for you. Your limiting factor is your locked CPU only supports 2666MT/s.
If the motherboard doesn't have a way for you to manually set the speed of the RAM then you're SOL and have to run Default JEDEC speed (2400) or whatever XMP are available.

What do you mean by loading? Do you mean like Enabling XMP and choosing any profile? then change the Memory Frequency? I mean when i turned on XMP on A.I Tweaker it immediately set the Memory Frequency or the Custom CPU Core Ratio from Auto to 2400 MHZ not 2666 MHZ. Can you post a demonstration? 😅 im kinda confused.

Yes, If your board gives you the option, try to enable XMP then enter AI Tweaker and change the Memory Frequency to 2666MT/s. Some Motherboards will allow you to override XMP profiles. If you're lucky and your motherboard allow you to change the profile once XMP is on then don't be surprised if once you close AI Tweaker it shows XMP as 'disabled.' again this will be a 'per vendor/motherboard' thing. since you've modified the settings

Unfortunately I don't have any Asus motherboards in my workshop to test this with.

I tried doing it again just now going onto Advanced Mode > A.I Tweaker set A.I Overclock Tuner to XMP and i found out that there seems to be TWO XMP version "XMP I" and "XMP II" i clicked on XMP II and selected the first profile "3200 MHZ" the default profile basically when XMP II's on and it automatically set the DRAM Frequency/Memory Frequency to 2666 MHZ i saved settings it works but idk will this cause issues?
