What cpu should i pair with my new 2080ti. I have the 1700. Got some money to upgrade now just wondering what cpu to get i got a X470 asus prime mobo. I know there are many threads on this with the answer being intel 9900K but never had a good experience with intel so sticking with amd im thinking 2700X i just game on my computer so the newer cpu is not worth the extra 500 in my country.

or should i look at 3600X? [pasted in by Moderator from subsequent post]

I have an RTX 2080 ti with a Ryzen 3700X and game at 4K.
I upgraded from a 2700X as some games like Witcher 3 and GTA V are quite CPU intensive even at 4K and had occasional stuttering.

It's a good combination and runs fantastic without any stutters or slowdown.
The Ryzen 3600 6 core CPU is very similar in performance to the 3700X for gaming but I liked the 8 cores on the 2700X so went for the 3700X as an upgrade.

You want at least 16 GB of 3200 MHZ RAM running in dual channel though to let these chips reach their full potential and game smoothly with newer titles.

Can you specify the monitor you game on?

Update your mainboard's BIOS, and double check that it can support a 3600/3600X...

Buy whichever you can get your hands on....; either is much faster than a 1700 in gaming, especially at 1080P with a 2080Ti...but less so at 1440P, and, if a 4k gamer, stick with what you have.
