What do people think of my build

This is my build. It is obviously a gaming rig which is built to play all current gen games, but importantly, is build with next gen in mind and possibly 4k when it becomes avaliable more widely. What do people think - all suggestions are welcome. Thx.

Second question: Why a motherboard which is made for 4way SLI, totally pointless and way too expensive to be worth it.

I want to Raid 0 between the two SSDs.

That's a 3-way SLI build, and most Z170 boards will come with 3 or at least 2 PCIex16 slots. It also matches his color scheme, and a more expensive board will have a better voltage regulator module, and cooling of it, for better overclocking on the I5.

I think you should keep the motherboard you chose.

I think you should keep the motherboard you chose.

Yeah i do like my current one. It keeps upgrade options open. Although if he can convince me there is a better one im all ears.

You should read this, great for benchmarks not so in real world.
Also motherboard is solid, what turkey says is true, however it's a motherboard for enthusiasts. If you don't plan on going for those 5ghz overclocks and more than SLI, then the board is an overkill, simple as that.

Ok so the vibe im getting is that i should keep the motherboard (i'm willing to go for overkill - it keeps upgrade options open) but go for one ssd instead of two in Raid 0? Is this the consensus?

If you look at his build, he has a nice white/black scheme going. Wouldn't want to mess that up. Color and aesthetics are important, too 😉

If you are willing to go for the motherboard, go for it, it's a great one, I was just saying it's a bit of an overkill. Also I linked you an article, read it yourself if you want, but the 2x250gb won't give you anything noticeable.

Its obviously high end gaming your after, although the differences are not great there are a few games that benefit from a i7 and I wouldn't be surprised if there are more in the future. If sli 980Ti's is a real option I would jump up to a 6700k

Very nice build but I just have one suggestion. While the Hyper EVO 212 is a great cooler, the case you choose has a huge clear side panel and the Hyper EVO 212 might not be as attractive as one of the Corsair Hydro Series Coolers that comes with the RGB lighting. But this is purely Aesthetic so up to you.

Just one point on the SSD.
That motherboard supports PCI-E NVMe M2 drives, one of these is pretty well as fast as a raid configuration of SATA SSDs: http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/samsung-950-pro-m-2-ssd-review,1.html
Obvious downside is the currently high price.
