I would definitely replace the PSU, never heard of Endorfy PSUs. As far as I can tell its in the Avoid tier on this list. You can replace it with this PSU. How much is the prebuilt?

It seems alright given the price of the 5090 itself. I would keep an eye on that PSU, but i wouldnt worry about it until around when the warranty period is up.

GPUs are easy to replace though. I would not buy a GPU with the intent to keep it for 8 years.

5070 Ti seems like it is more what you should be looking at, with the expectation of replacing it ins 3-4 years with a 7070 or something.

If you feel the need for VRAM today, get a used 4090.

isnt the 5070 ti bad thou?
i saw a few reviews and i dont think any was positive...
i was looking at the 4070 ti super because that fixed the vram issue and is like half the price of a 5070 ti (used vs new to be fair)

a used 4090 is still very expensive here almost 5090 price so whatever at that point so that would be fine yes but not that much cheaper

That is horrendous advice with a 5090 IMO. That can be okayish if we were talking about a PC that has no dGPU, but with the most power hungry card in history that is unacceptable advice, IMO. Say he does what you say and the PSU kills the 5090, sure its all under warranty, but now they may have to fight/wait months for an RMA to go through.

can it do that?
last time i had an underpowered psu the gpu just throttled itself 😵

From that not a bad PSU, 10 year warranty.

Most manufacturers null the warranty if you change any components. So yes, it's the best advice I can give if they want to preserve that warranty on that unit. I mean you could swap out the psu, keep the old one, then swap it out if it needs service. But most people will forget they swapped something out, send it in, and have their claim denied because the parts aren't original. I get where you're coming from, and it'd be different if it were a private sale, but that's not the case here. Also that psu isn't on the avoid list, there are only two endorfy psu's on that list, one of which is c tier, and the other is avoid, neither of which is the model in that build. Honestly I can't find much information on that psu, which is concerning, but it also doesn't mean it will immediately explode.

A bad psu can definitely cause hardware failures, sometimes in a pretty spectacular fashion. Helper800 has pointed that out, and if the builder can swap it out to a better unit for a small upcharge, that would be worth it. Otherwise it comes with a two year warranty that they should honor, and you can either swap it out on your own during the warranty period, or when it's just about up.

I was nearly positive I saw that as an F tier on the cultist list and I could not find a review, let alone a good one. Seems its a good enough PSU, though, I cannot say anything of their RMA process and if they honor their warranties.

I don't really see why the 5070 Ti is bad. It is basically a 4070 Ti Super, with faster memory. It nearly performs as well as a 4080 (non-super). The 5070 more closely resembles the 4070 Ti/ 4070 Super.

They aren't bad cards, just bad prices at the moment. Which is why I would not aim for a 5090.

5070 Ti is just about justifiable if you want a 'lower' power card, at MSRP, at going prices, not so much. 9070 XT is a strong contender but also hard to track down.

5070 is only worth it at MSRP, which isn't a thing, and if you can't find a 4070 Super anywhere.

Subtle advantage in newer DLSS4 and multi-frame gen. With transformer DLSS being somewhat worth it and multi-frame gen only good for some single player games.

i only play single player games nowdays or coop sometimes

multi frame gen looks great but frame gen requires more vram
Isnt the 5090 basically the only card to turn on mfg comfortably?
5070 ti about 1300$
4070 ti super about 1000$
4090 about 2000$
5090 about 4300$ (i guess less with this build)
