What does "EVO" mean

I've seen the letters "EVO" associated with the descriptions of several computer and wireless products including the last two ASUS MBs I've bought. Nobody I've asked to date has any idea what they stand for nor is Google much use. Thanks in advance.

It's a shortened version of evolution.

That occurred to me the first few times I saw it but, frankly, it seems absurd and I dismissed the idea entirely when I saw several companies using the same term. As for Asus, they only apply it to some of their MBs. What are we to infer from that, are some of their MBs "EVOlutionary" and some are not? Hmmmm!

yes! that is exactly right...actually, I haven't the slightest idea why they went that route..now that you mention it, it is sort of confusing...considering the deluxe and ws revolution are better...best not to think about it too much

Believe me, I'd like nothing better than to not think about things like this but new initials seem to appear daily. How's a person to know which ones to ignore? If you ignore them all surely you'll miss out on something sooner or later. 🙁
