Hi there, I was wondering what FPS would I expect to get on ARK: Survival Evolved at 1080p with high or ultra settings?

My specs:
i7 3930k
GTX 980TI
16GB RAM
240GB SSD

Thank you :)

Better system, but watch the video anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t4Wks2xclo

(3440x1440 is probably about 20% or so more demanding than 2560x1440, but a GTX1080Ti is about 75% more powerful than a GTX980Ti so you would need LOWER SETTINGS than the video and still not hit 60FPS)

Of course, just dropping anti-aliasing should make a huge difference.

*Still, it's one of the worst-optimized games. Considering they got $150M or so something is not right here. Hopefully they have a DX12 or Vulkan branch being worked on, or some heavy update to DX11 coming in the near future.

If they've been putting aside the money rather than pay better coders and then just let this fizzle out people will be pissed...
This game is horribly optimized, but your specs are good, have you tried checking some youtube ARK Benchmark videos? With this config they are usually getting around 48 to 57 fps and in some parts with less detail and props, around 74..

Is that an overclocked CPU?

The way I OC'd my i7-3770K was to simply raise the MULTIPLIER values. I got up to "45" on each core so I can get 4.5GHz under load for full CPU usage. When I tried other overclocking solutions they didn't work as well since raising the voltage also raised the temperature too much (and I only have four cores).

I have a Noctua NH-D14 so cooling wasn't a big issue.

It turns out that the above is a 25% overclock since I'd normally Turbo to only 3.6GHz under full load (so 45/36).

your pc is a really strong one..... but considering the bad optimisation of the game , 1080p with ultra settings on this game will give you around 20 - 30 fps because a gtx 1080 with i7 6700k is able to run it on 40 fps at ultra 1080p
