What is best GPU for the MSI 970 gaming motherboard AMD?

just looking for some good picks.

It really depends on your need and budget. Generally, the GTX 970 is an overall great card with a very good price to performance ratio, but if you need more performance and have a higher budget, a 980 would do well. Look into a 960 if you have a mid to low-ish budget.

oh sorry bout that, you're right. the cpu i got is a AMD FX 8350 Black edition
and the pws is NEO Antec 520W

You should include cards from a more trustworthy company. You know, AMD, Matrox.... basically anyone else.

yeah im just looking for affordable gpu that goes well with the mobo the cpu im getting is from AMD

Never use GPU boss to compare between AMD and Nvidia. That is a very biased site.

Assuming you have a 1920x1080p monitor, both cards will perform identically.

because the gpu i have right now is the EVGA GTX 560Ti

Tom's Hardware is a pretty good place to start.
Anandtech as a backup.

i see my favorite gpu the GeForce GTX 660 Gigabyte

If the gtx 970 is in the budget it would be a good option. The Amd cards in that range(290, 290x) would require a psu upgrade. Otherwise look at a 960 or r9 280.

the only Power supply i have is 520W
the cpu im getting is AMD FX 8350 = The MSI 970 gaming motherboard.
ram im getting is down the road. soon.

but im just looking for GPU that is around 130-190?

He has a decent 520w unit which is fine for a 280 as long as he doest crank the 8350 to 220w.

I did that because AMD is coming out with the 300 series, and the OP should wait for that, but if the OP wanted a new GPU soon then the new Nvidia cards are good options.
