What gpu is better for gaming

gtx 1050 or gtx 1030.

core 2 quad q9650
4gb ram
300w generic power supply

Gtx 1050 for sure. But switch out that disgusting 300w generic psu.

Same architecture, and I believe the core count difference is 2x.

Depending on frequency, CPU etc the performance should be roughly 2x different though I haven't looked at a benchmark.

Your CPU will tend to bottleneck some games, but the cost difference between the GT1030 and GTX1050 makes the value on the GTX1050 side.
