Hi, i have recently been upgrading my pc, in april i bought a new cpu motherboard and case. Now my specs are

I5 2570k 4.2ghz
HD 5850
4gb DDR3 ram
4tb of hardrives
Coolermaster 700W PSU
NZXT phantom case

Anyway, now i want to upgrade my GPU, i game at 1920x1080 and currently i can play the games i want on max, but because of small vram im having trouble with skyrim modded with enb and textures, most of the time i play old games, whether pc or console using emulators. So im wondering if you think i should buy the Radeon HD 7950 IceQ X2 Boost or the VTX3D AMD Radeon 7870 black gpu. I would like it to last a while before needing upgrading.

Thanks

Im from the Uk and the cheapest i have found the Radeon HD 7950 IceQ X2 Boost is £225, which is $342. The VTX3D AMD Radeon 7870 costs £167. So essentially a maximum of £230, no more than that, i would prefer to spend the least amount possible of course, as long as it suites my needs and isn't overkill at my resolution.

Thanks

Whether you are using AMD Radeon HD 7950 or HD 7870 or HD 7850 or whatever, always keep in mind that All AMD Graphics Cards are power hungry (overclocked or non-overclocked), You might upgrade your Physical Memory (8GB will do justice with above GPUs), I always prefer Corsair for PSUs, because they are very reliable at every situation, You may opt for 750Watt Modular one & if you want to X-fire with another GPU, then go for 850Watt, and must say, use a SSD (e.g. Samsung 840 Pro Series). Good Luck..

Hello again the PSU model is Silent Pro M700, which i would imagine is enough? Anyway im strongly thinking i should go with the 7950, as i said i want it to last as long as possible before needing to be upgraded again and i think i will get a bit more time than with the 7870.

Thanks

well i heard CM M700 model is avarage so you shouldn't worry about the wattage and the reliability too much.
and 7950 will be a good choice. though can you up your budget to £275, i saw a GF GTX 670 for about £275.it would be a much better investment as the GTX 670 performs almost like a radeon HD 7970 and if overclocked properly, like a GTX 680. if you can't no worries, 7950 is still a great buy and has a good OC potential, and performs good at stock config.
