Hi I currently have a gtx 980 founders and I play in 2 to 4k and I don't care if I get over a hundred FPS or if I have to play in medium but as it's starting to age newer games are not running as well I don't have thousands for a rtx 2070 or 2080 ti and need a newer card I have been looking at getting a 1070 but thought I would ask for some recommendations.

Solution
Well then the 1080 is the best you can get unless you don't mind getting second hand cards. However I still recommend waiting a little longer to see the price of the new 3060 card as that one might be within your budget and much more powerful than a 1080. Nvidia stated to announce the details in late March and release in June.
If you want a new then a 1070 is not new. A 2070 Super is only 500$, so the main question is what is your budget?

Also Nvidia is about to release a new lineup of video cards in mid-late 2020, so I would hold off a bit longer until more news has surfaced.

Thanks alot mate I'll hang on im not in a rush those rtx cards should be able to handle it and if it isn't in my budget the 2060-2070 will definitely come down in price
