About a month ago or so newegg.com posted an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5800+ @ 3.0GHz (65nm). I finally feel i need to upgrade from my 4600+ but newegg had discontinued that product. Was there some sort of recal on the 5800+ that I am not aware of? It had great reviews on newegg and was a 65nm 3.0GHz AMD proc. for like $80... pretty good deal.

here are some links for sale but not the price you were looking for.

don't know if you wanted the 65nm technology specifically but if not for the price im seeing the 6400+ black edition might be something to look at but is only 90nm technology due to the fact that they are moving forward with the phenom more now

Yea I mean im not deicated to getting only the 65nm proc. its just that the 5800 was a good buy for me not only because of the speed and newer 65nm technology but newegg sold it OEM without a fan knocking the price down by like $30 from retail price. I might end up with the 6400 BE or maybe even the 9950 BE if my mobo will support it.

If you can hang for a week or two we might find out more about the K10 Athlon X2 6500+

All kinds of rumahs floating around about performance.

What kind of mobo do you have?

I know I have seen the support list and figured it wasn't updated because they havent listed the 5800+. Would seem strange to me that it would not be supported. I saw that the 9850 is compatible but for $10 why not get the 9950? What are the chances that the K10 chipset will work with my board? Is it an AM2/AM2+ socket or completely different?

Nevermind I just saw some specs of the upcoming 6500+ which is AM2+ I believe. Anyone know why they dropped the clock down to 2.5ghz?
