What happens if you put a fried/dead CPU in a working motherboard?

Just as the title says, what would happen if you put a fried/dead CPU in a working motherboard? Would it fry the motherboard or would it just not work?

Yea it most likely won't Boot. It still may power on but you get nothing.

Would it damage the motherboard or any other parts?

Unless there is some exposed parts of the cpu, (which you would have to shove a screwdriver though) it wont damage anything.
