I’m looking to build an everything PC with a main focus on 1440p gaming and I would like your help to make sure I’m getting the most cost to performance, future-resisting and good looking with at least some RGB for a flexible budget of $2k.

I’ve put a lot of research behind mostly every component especially the GPU and RAM. Why I choose the XFX is because I found an eBay to Amazon price between $750-$860 and unlike all other brands of 6800XT’s, it’s the only one with 41.47 TFlops of Floating-Point performance over all the rest at 21.74, but I don’t fully understand what differences that would make while gaming.

The CPU could be over priced and it’s not as fast core or boost as it’s older gen, however the 96mb of L3 cache would make a huge differences for games that can use it (which I’m not sure which ones would)

The Ram I know is a lot faster than my current 7 year old rig but it caps out when I am multi tasking and some games with heavy mods too. Want lower timings and faster speed that wasn’t going to set my wallet on fire so I selected in the non-rgb even know I really wanted it haha

I chose the m.2 because if it’s very high read/write time of 8000 m/s, I’m not sure if the mobo has a heat sink or a fan to cool it if needed, and I know it doesn’t help with fps, but I load massive game worlds so it is something that would help me.

not sure if that’s a good monitor but it was recommended by a tech YouTuber and seems legit with 1m/s. Couldn’t find anything cheaper for 240htz at 1440p; even know I prefer IPS panel over VA.

not sure if that’s a good mobo but I wanted to make sure I had pcie4. Same for AIO, I’ve never water cooled before.

i would like to try overclocking a little so I got a more power 850w PSU as the gpu manufacturer req wanted 750w, what do you think?

You want 2x16GB for an Intel build not 4x8GB. Also that cooler is weak for an unlocked cpu. For the cpu I'd go with an i7 12700F.

This cpu cooler is 155mm tall and will easily fit inside that Phanteks case.

I see the 5800X 3D was changed...
There's your upgrade cycles like I mentioned in one of your other threads. AM4 is EoL and mature. LGA 1700 should support another cpu gen and will have some issues to iron out before it matures.
There are applications that favor AMD, ones that favor Intel, and ones that favor Nvidia. You can't win 'em all. Pick the one that best fits you.

2)That overpriced Hyper 212(that thing used to be like, 30 bucks, or something?) for a Thermalright Assassin King Plus, Peerless Assassin, or Macho C.
If Thermalright products aren't available, then the Vetroo V5, or Scythe's FUMA 2(but it seems to have gone up at the time of this post).
Unlike the 12600K that doesn't care about operating thermals until the thermal limit, the other one does.

3)Hmm...
Both: 2x 16GB memory kits can be had for less. The only reason for 4x 8GBs here is aesthetics.
Both: already mentioned the cooler.
Intel: B-series motherboard(B660 Gaming X AX?). Thanks to Intel allowing support for XMP on B series, and already pushing their cpus to their limits, they took away - reluctantly - some of the sales from their premium Z-boards... and probably their K-cpus; not everyone needs E-cores, and overclocking has lost relevancy over time - save for the LN2 users...

Both: the 1TB OS drive. 500GB is enough. Maybe use that difference for an HDD to archive stuff on.
AMD: I would still take the 5800X 3D, but that's me...

Depending on what game(s) you play, Nvidia's DLSS & Reflex can be advantageous but you'd want a G-Sync compatible monitor for that. I'm just using this MSI one down below as an example.

I had a few questions:
You say 2x16gb is better, but I read conflicting reports about the silicone lottery and the possible chance of getting single ranked with the 16, where as 8x4 (as long as the manufacture engineered it this way) gives you dual ranked memory which is superior when gaming. What is 16gb sticks better for an intel cpu? I couldn't find much information on that. I used this as my benchmark:

You recommended the i7-12700F over my selected i5-12600, I understand it has more processing power/cores, but as this rig is primarily used for gaming my understanding was single core clock speed is king and most games use up to 6 cores in total. Additionally, your cpu is $60 more which means I would have to make up for that someone where else in the build otherwise my wife will murder me if I over spend, that would be an extreme hazard to my long term gaming grind. I was worried about the cooler, but liquid cooling is even more expensive and run the risk of leaks and damaging your rig. I don't plan on upgrading for a long time so I'm building with future-resistance in mind, otherwise I would have saved the money and got a 6750 XT that handles 1440p well enough. I pretty sure I wont be getting into extreme overclocking, but I know there are more beefy and less rgb'y air coolers, just wasn't sure the benefit outweighed the additional cost.

The graph you choose might be a little skewed as its showing results for the 6900 XT and thats an entirely different type of high end gaming I think, the parts you would need around that far surpass my budget unless I win the lottery😢

Stick with the 12600K but get a better cpu cooler because that CM you have listed won't handle that cpu. 2x16GB for an Intel build due to the controller. BTW the reason they use the 6900 XT for those benches @ 1080P is to make those games cpu bound.

In just over one week, OP, you have posted five threads on the same build. This is not going to be a thing and any future new threads started about this same build may result in your allocation of one thread being reduced to zero.

Sorry I work from home, so I am staring at this all day long, so I make subtle changes based on new information and side questions that effect the over all build. I'm spending over $2k, so I want to be absolutely sure the build will last as my last two rigs I did get alot of much appreciated help from Toms hardware as you can see from the account age and this one is draining 2 years of personal savings. I will gladly delete the older posts if you'd prefer if was I wrong thinking more threads make a better quilt?

I'm growing my knowledge base so the old posts are a bit obsolete now. I moved away from the 3G cuz of the $450 cost and no real extra performance with its 96mb of L3 cache unless when utilized for very high end or 4k gaming which isn't my goal so with the price tag I found better options. You're right, some do favor one or the other so its hard to pick, personally I don't care about brands as long as it lives up to it performance.

The Hyper212 I id find for $30 but I am now thinking about changing it to Scythe FUMA 2 51.17 CFM as the prior poster pointed out thermal bottle-necking during high or long loads, even know its $40 more.

I was worried about single channel memory with the 2x16gb and as mentioned above I used the benchmark video that did show a minimal, but increase performance gain. I don't care much for ascetics these days ha. I did read about making sure XMP profile enabled in bios, (don't fully understand why) and seems like its not hard to do that bit, but haven't done it in my more limited experience.
