I have a DIYPC Skyline-07-G Black/Green SECC ATX Full Tower Gaming. I am currently looking to go from a u atx with a amd fx 6120 to a atx full motherboard that can handle the latest i7 or just a i7. What is a good motherboard???

how many series of the i7 is there? I just want a bigger mobo and a intel i7 cpu that can handle streaming/recording from OBS Multiplatform without issues my current cpu cant handle running a game and work obs it speeds up and slows down and repeats the noise is annoying after a while.

Skylake is the latest release, prior was the Haswell refresh (like the 4790-4790K) and Z97 mobos (1150 socket) which are very viable for the next couple of years and beyond which run with DDR3. Asus Z97-A is a good model for this, I went with the Z97 Hero

Intel Core i7-6700K is one of the 6th Generation Intel Core i7 Processors. It uses Socket LGA 1151.

The previous model uses Socket LGA 1150.
5th Generation Intel Core i7 Processors
Intel Core i7-5775R Processor
(6M Cache, up to 3.80 GHz)
Intel Core i7-5775C Processor
(6M Cache, up to 3.70 GHz)

4th Generation Intel Core i7 Processors

Intel Socket 1150 motherboards for the 5th/New 4th/4th Generation Core i7:
Asus Z97-A

ASRock H97 Pro4

Z97 chipset motherboards can be used for overclocking with Intel Core processors with a "K" suffix.

The K on the Intel Core processors is used to show that the processor has an unlocked multiplier. By unlocking the multiplier it allows easy overclocking.

The H97 chipset motherboard is more of a non-overclocker. H97 motherboard and non "K" CPU are less expensive. There are also cheaper chipset models.

so the ASUS Z170-A ATX DDR4 is good because I do have ddr3
second what the difference between Intel Core i7-4790 Processor - BX80646I74790 http://goo.gl/v9KqQu and Intel Boxed Core I7-6700K 4.00 GHz 8M Processor Cache 4 LGA 1151 BX80662I76700K http://goo.gl/oqeZo0

ps this is my curruent specs http://goo.gl/koZZBb the only thing that changed is my case, power supply which is a 750 watts and my video card is a evga gtx 970

ya new mobo with ddr4 i7 either 3.5 or 4 ghz cores 12 but is intel that good with just 8 cores

i just want to make sure i can run anything and stream/record without issues and nice and quiet

I apologize but trying to figure out how I want to do this has been drive me nuts I found this Intel Core i7-5930K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 2011-v3 thread it to 12 http://goo.gl/ZiY2DP comes with no fan which is dum and this Gigabyte GA-X99-SLI ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard. I think I might just build a custom from a website
