Hey guys, i currently have a i5 7500 and was wonder for around 200$ (i know not alot, but im open to used, as well as new options), what upgrade i could get for 144hz, as my 7500 with only four threads isnt cutting it anymore. I am looking for the price of a new motherboard in this, but if not if theyre on the same platform.

The best you can do on that platform is a i7 4core 8 thread which IMO is not worth the price of an upgrade. I would suggest you look around on the used market for something like a B450 mobo and a Ryzen 2600. I looked around for new stuff but currently there are no go sales going on for parts, but keep you eyes open sometimes you can find Ryzen 2600 on sale for 120 USD and a B450 such as the Gigabyte B450M DS3H is usually around 80.

Edit meant new not used stuff for sales.

I got the same card with a 2600 and I'm not seeing any bottlenecks.
If you want 1080p 144hz then get a 3600 or for more futureproof get a 5600X or wait for the 5600 whenever it comes out.
For 2K 144hz then the 3600 is enough as the graphics card will bottleneck you so get a better graphics card.
For gaming alone the 3600 seems to be the sweet spot for all resolutions pretty much.
