Hey guys,

I know very little about this even though some of my friends try to explain it to me. So i would like to know what Alcohol 120% is and what it does. What does it allow you to do and what are it's main uses?

Thank you.

it helps you burn dvd or cds and it also makes your pc think you got a dvd drive so you can mount images on that drive.

images can be games, movies, etc.

does that make sense?

Alc 120 does many things, but most peeps use it to "mount" fdf/mds files to "virtual" cd/dvd drives such that they can they can bypass common copy protection systems and install software. I condone this act entirely if the said software is copyrighted.
Most individuals use Daemon Tools instead to mount anything from an mdf/mds/iso/cue/bin file combined with the YASU (not the Mac prog of the same name) plugin to fool the system into thinking there are no virtual drives present (ala latest SecureROM or SafeDisk4). Of course you have NO business doing this if proposed software is copyrighted and you don't own a licence for it.
If they encounter a DAA file, they have to use PowerISO to negotiate them instead, or use it to convert the potentially combined files to a single ISO file, and proceed from there. However, if you do not own a licence for possible copyrighted material, you have no business using that tool for that purpose either.
I HOPE I have been of help:)
