What is Drive Xpert?

Those two differently colored SATA ports on your motherboard work with Drive Xpert. It's an easy way to configure RAID 0 or RAID 1 using the hardware of the motherboard. If you are not installing a RAID you don't need to insatall it, or activate it in BIOS.

sorry for the thread revival
if im not looking to use it for RAID and just normal drives, can I use these still?
or is it only for RAID and cannot be used as normal SATA ports?
i.e. I cannot connect a SATA DVD-RW to it?

What needs to be done to make these (the orange and white ones) available as normal SATA ports? I can't even get the BIOS to see a disk plugged in to the orange SATA plug.
