Hello there.

Yesterday, my laptop display showed the artefact shown in this link

Nothing really happened beside travelling with my laptop stored in its usual backpack, no liquid exposure or anything.

Weirdly, those traces do not appear when i display a whole white window, such as an empty paint page or a windows explorer. I have tried a dead pixel app, displaying full red/green/yellow etc and again it doesnt appear then.

I m afraid this is just the screen going dead on that right side. Anything i can try to fix this ?

Thanks a lot everyone !

I would disassemble and find the ribbon cable that connects to the motherboard, disconnect it then reconnect it. Majority of the time it will clear it up - if not its possible it is failing and might need a replacement (at that point it might be time to replace the entire laptop...)

Update: i just opened the laptop, and disconnected the display from the ribbon cable. I knew it was the right one as I had no input to the screen when turning the laptop on.

I waited a few minutes, turned it back on but sadly the issue is still there.

Should i try a screen pixel cleaner or is this just down and dusted and i just need to either buy a new screen ?
