8 series motherboard are quite cheap as compared to 9 series.
I would like to buy a bulldozer cpu and 8 series motherboard can support bulldozer easily through a BIOS update.
Is there a big difference between these 2 ??
Is there a big reason to consider 9 series or should I go with the 8 ?

I don't want sli , I'll be using only 1 gpu.
I dont need raid either.I have 1 internal hd other external.
So these 2 factors are excluded.

But what do you mean by better usb 3.0. ?
I mean both chipsets support usb3.0 so they should work the same way.
How come 9 is better than 8?

save you're money and just the 800 series, sounds like you already pretty much made up your mind anyway. If you don't plan on using the features of 900 why pay for it? Other than being prepared for future upgrades

Be warned that some mobos with 8xx chipset (might be all of them, not sure) needs a bios update to proper run bulldozer. You would still need to have an older AMD cpu to boot the mobo, update the bios and then insert the bulldozer cpu
