what is the best core i5 processor socket 1155 for gaming ?

i have a 450 Watt PSU so what is the best core i5 cpu 1155 for gaming

i want to upgrade my i3 2100
and ican't find the i5 2500k or hte i5 3750k
the only available is
the i5 3340 and i7 3770 k

if i purchased the i5 will i have a good performance
or the i7 will be a better selection

That would all depend upon your budget. If money is not too big an issue then personally I'd get the i7, mostly for its extra oomph.

You would certainly see a performance boost with the i5, especially given that you are currently only running an old i3. The performance difference between an i5 and an i7 if you are only ever going to do gaming is not that great, however if you ever wanted to do things like music, photo or video creation/editing, then the i7 would easily out perform the i5. That is why I said that if budget is not too big an issue then going for the i7 would, in my opinion, be a better choice. If budget IS the priority then the i5 would be the sensible choice.

i understand that,iam agamer after all and i'm looking for agameing CPU but what i am asking is will i5 3340 boost the gaming performance of mine or the defferince between the i5 3340 and my i3 2100 would be no boost performance there
