I play games that arn't tooo graphically intensive (Minecraft, F1 2013, Burnout Paradise,Ether one, Civ 5).

I'd like this graphics card to be a little overkill so I can play games of the future. Id prefer a Radeon Card, but if Geforce is the way to go Ill do that too.

Solution
It depends on what settings you want to use and the resolution you plan on playing in. For 1080p on medium-high settings a hd 7770 or r7 250x (they're pretty much the same card), whichever is cheapest. You won't need a powerful psu and could go with something like a cx430.
I currently use a sapphire hd 7770 I picked up for £70 and it can run any game on medium settings at a constant 60fps in 1080p.
If you want to play at higher settings or just want to know it'll be good for a bit longer, I'd get a hd 7850.
If you have a decent cpu (at least fx 4300/6300 or equiv.) either of these should be fine.
