I am currently building a personal heavy gaming rig, but over time so money is not a problem. The motherboard that I have in mind is an MSI Big Bang-XPower II one reason being it is SLI/Crossfire compatible. However this motherboard holds a LGA 2011 socket which many of you may know are not fond of overclockers and gamers, but are for heavy renderers, workstations, and etc.

Is there a LGA 2011 cpu that is good for my gaming/overclocking situation? If so or not, is there another motherboard/cpu combo that is better than what I have in mind.

P.S. I have a HAF X CoolerMaster Chassis so I can handle up to XL-ATX.

Thank to whoever helps.

There really is no need to go with socket 2011. To begin with socket 2011 is made for workstations and server platforms not really for everyday use and gaming. Also the motherboard along with the CPU is to expensive and doesn't offer anything extra for gaming to add to your performance. A socket 1155 with a Z77 chipset is all you need.

i5 3570k and any decent mobo will be fine. If you have to get the i7 3770k, anything else you are just wasting money. Instead you could donate that money to me so I can upgrade my rig lol
