What is the difference between a normal graphics card and a OC edition of same series?

While I was looking at Amazon for graphics cards, I noticed there are some "OC" version, AMP editions and some MI editions.

What do these different "editions" mean?

And which one should I get? My build is not for overclocking, only plain gaming. Please help.

Spec - i5 6500 with stock intel CPU fan
8 GB DDR4

Functionally, there is no difference, They are simply the same GPU except they come overclocked from the factory. Some have upgraded cooling solutions to allow for the overclock. Note it is ONLY the graphics card that is overclocked, not you CPU. Usually, you can get the same overclock manually through using software, like Afterburner, on a non-overclocked card at a much cheaper price, YMMV. Regardless, the factory overclocked graphics card will perform faster than the non-overclocked card.
I was looking for the answer to OP's question, but it occurred to me that the information you ask for is irrelevant. My best guess is that the OC AMP and MI editions are simply versions from companies like asus or gigabyte or evga that produce a standard asus, gigabyte or evga model and a "super version" with the best cooler, maybe a slight overclock on gpu and memory and some fancy branding. However don't quote me on this as it is only my best guess.

Okay that makes sense.

Thanks but will an OCed graphics card perform better even if the CPU is not OCed?

yes..... going for the 970 is the best.. it can be overclocked easily

Okay.
