thats a nice rig ya got there. mine is old a q6600 @ 3.1 8gb cas5 @ 1031mhz. im waiting for the next intel chip (32nm) then i will upgrade

yes, me too is agree with you.there is no banifit to buy core i7.i am also waiting for intel (32mn)core i9 that will be a good choice for me. my canfr is q6600@3.6 board maximus formula ram 1*4 gb 1200 mhz ocz flaxcy power suply tanger 900w g.gard asus eah 4870 cpu cooler silent knife 2 .sound card asus d2x.sound logitech Z-5500 505 Watts 5.1 Speakers keyboard mouse logitech mx 5500.ssd Intel 80GB X25-M G2C1 HDD 500 WD BLACK

5.9 with a patriot ps-100 32 GB

I know, that is low and sad for an SSD, I should ave gone with intel

interestingly enough, it was also 5.9 with a barracuda, according to windows nothing changed

but according to all other benchmark tools i used, performance is about 50% higher

When I first got my x25-m back in November of 2009 I was getting a 7.8.

I re-ran the test today and it's now stuck at 5.9. I re-formatted, re-installed windows, updated all firmware, etc.. and it will not budge.. Anyone have any ideas?

Single disk 7,3 and 2 identical Intel X25M 80GB G2 RAID0 7,9

Here is the SMART info from SSD toolbox utility:

I got a G,SKil Falcon 128gb (not the falcon II but the first one) and got WEI 5.9

And I just bought a new OCZ Vertex LE 100Gb and my WEI raise to 7.7 !!

I wish to buy another one but wonder when intel will support SSD in RAID-0 while supporting TRIM ??

Hi,

I know this tread is old but I think it still a subject that can appreciate 😛

The last test I ran give me 7.7 with my Corsair F90
Its run on a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits

First think I want to say, its that with SSD you can get random result, like really random.

The first test I ran after my windows and driver install give me 7.3
I install windows in IDE mode so I activate the ACHI today and after that I drop at 5.9. I panic and check around what can be wrong, reinstalling all kind of driver and play with a lot of setting but still the same thing since 5 minute ago but for no reason except one.

SSD have random performance for 1 good reason.
Its in the writing process. If you lucky the ssd just have to write the data. If you not it will have to do an Erase/Move/Write operation.

Here I got to test done by CrystalDiskMark. Both test have been done in a 10 minutes interval. No reboot. No antivirus active.

TEST 1
Sequential Read : 155.421 MB/s
Sequential Write : 133.640 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 150.439 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 133.566 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 28.191 MB/s [ 6882.6 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 77.603 MB/s [ 18946.0 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 136.800 MB/s [ 33398.4 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 131.669 MB/s [ 32145.7 IOPS]

TEST 2
Sequential Read : 153.054 MB/s
Sequential Write : 52.764 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 148.129 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 49.126 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 20.916 MB/s [ 5106.4 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 49.925 MB/s [ 12188.7 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 105.839 MB/s [ 25839.6 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 46.576 MB/s [ 11371.2 IOPS]

An SSD write operation may also require a NAND erase operation and move data from one NAND block to another. These involve multiple page writes and block-erase operations, which will slow down the SSD write operation even more

Maybe I'm wrong and it slow down for a completly different reason but its weird..

My Config:
Windows 7 Ult 64bits
Intel Core i7 950 3.06@3840Ghz (fresh by Corsair H50)
12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 1333 @640Mhz 9-9-9-21 (3200Mhz Triple channel)
MotherBoard Gigabyte X58A-UD3R [X58 chipset, ICH10R Southbridge] (support SATA3 & USB3)
Ati Radeon HD4850 512Mb (my old card 😀)
Corsair SSD Force 90 (Boot, windows)
WD Caviar Green 2TO (pagefile, user profil, data)

I'm not sure whats going on with my system right now, and if anyone has any ideas let me know. My intel X-25M 80gb is only getting a 5.9.

Setup:

AsRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3
Intel i7-2600K
Gskill 8gb
ATI 5870 1gb
Intel X-25M 80gb
3 other storage Seagate drives

I have the HD in Sata3_0 and boot off it.

Did i miss some drivers or firmware? Is there a bios issue?

i am getting 7.8 on everything but the ssd primary hard disk
on that i am getting a 7.7
during backup i noticed the best transfer rate being about 200 MBS

the ssd is a crucial 256 sata III and it should be able to run faster

i need to find a program that tells me what sata hardware version is in this box

OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
System Manufacturer Alienware
System Model Area 51
System Type x64-based PC
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU X980 @ 3.33GHz, 3334 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
