Hi, I would look for a Z390 board, otherwise a BIOS update might be needed. Take care that the 9400F requires a graphics card too.

May I ask what is the 9400f
Also yeah I bought the wrong motherboared for the cpu I am using and when I turn it on it turns off.
I bought the b250 fintech boared and realised it is wrong

You need a "3 series" 1151 board. The B250 won't work. You shouldn't need a z board as the 9400F doesn't OC.

i5-9400F is not overclockable CPU so Z390 is a bit of an overkill unless you want to overclock your memory and/or upgrade CPU later otherwise I'd recommend H310 or B360 they are budget friendly.

I was in a thread a bit ago where someone was looking for a PSU that could power both. They are generally 750W+, and cost a lot. While the four pin is optional, it's really more than you need. I'd get the previous one. Or the one I linked seeing as it's cheaper still. Again, as mentioned twice now, the 9400F isn't an OC'ing chip so you don't need the Z boards.
