What motherboard should I get

I am deciding what mobo to get and I was looking at the asus 990fx r2.0 gen 3 but that is just a bit to expensive. I am also getting an Asus r9 290 OC CUII so need something that has pcie 3.0 (but I heard I only need 2.0 tell me if thats true).
It needs to have a AM3+ socket

It is true. The difference between the PCIe 3.0 and 2.0 is not that different. It is more like upgrading from SATA cable 1 to 2.

How much you can spend? How about a Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0?

If not, get it. Regarding PCIE gen 2.0 and 3.0 versions, there don't seem to any differences in performance between both the gen. as PCIE3 has more bandwidth, but current video cards cannot max out PCIE2. Nothing to worry, you are all good

I can probably spend around 70-80 quid but I will be grateful if you have found anything cheaper
