Hey, I am a rookie planning on upgrading my computer and the next thing i need is a better motherboard. I just need help with suggestions on what to buy. I need an MATX Board that is compatible with the specs i have. I am hoping to spend maximum of £70 but i can go higher if thats what you recommend. I am buying from the UK.

My Specs:
Case - Fujitsu CELSIUS W420
PSU - ntec TruePower Classic 550W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply
OS - Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
CPU - Intel Core I5-3470 @ 3.2GHz (4 cores)
GPU - AMD Radeon R7 240 (planning on upgrading soon, maybe to GTX 970)
Ram - 8GB DDR3
Motherboard - Fujitsu Mainboard D3162-C1

I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Since your i5 is not overclockable, an h77 or b75 chipset board will be sufficient. Any mb from a reputed manufacterer with the aforementioned chipsets should be enough to satisfy your needs. A quick search of newegg returns these mb's:

B75 (all reviews out of five stars)

Asrock (four stars with 33 reviews)

Gigabyte (four stars with 90 reviews)

Biostar (four stars with 16 review)

H77...
unless your mb fails dont replace it. your not going to see in real life more speed from another brand of mb. only change a mb if there some issue with the mb you have. (defect or need mb with more sata slots.). I would put the money in the bank..next year put in intel 1151 skylake or 1150 haswell mb if the price is right. the 1151 skylake will be about 20 percent faster then haswell. the cpu you have now is still good cpu for gaming.

The motherboard i have at the moment is complete trash. it only has 16 pins for the power supply which means i cant upgrade. I need atleast 20+ for my new power supply. The PSU i put in the specs is wrong (which is my bad) but the PSU i have at the moment is only 300W which isn't enough. The 550W PSU is what i recently bought and it wont fit into my motherboard since i need 20 pins.

Asus (refurbished product, but if you can find it new it is the only mb to have dual PCIE x16 (read: SLI or Crossfire!!!))
