As the title says, what needs to be copied after bios IC has been changed? and to where it needs to get copied? Please provide me a brief answer.
Lenovo y700

My laptop broke. I took it to the shop. They said my bios ic was broken or something like that. They said they have to import 'bios ic' from china. They did it. Laptop started. They said they have to copy something into the system.
What do they mean by that?

They also said they have to find similar Lenovo stuff to copy files or something of that sort. I don't know exactly.

Thank you for your time.

If I read your thread correctly, they need to update the BIOS after replacing the BIOS chip.

You can go to lenovo site, enter your laptop model, or serial number, then you can find the BIOS, also how to update the BIOS too.

Now, the technician is looking for another Lenovo y700, so they can copy the files from that to mine, alternatively, can they also download bios update from here >> https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-y-series-laptops/y700-15isk/downloads/ds112253 and make my laptop able to work like normal?
