Hello there people, so the past few months i've been lagging in alot of games and that has stopped me from playing, so i was wondering what you guys think i should upgrade for better fps, since i don't have too much knowledge.
I also have my CPU GFX and Memory overclocked, but not a great increase in fps.

I mainly play Rust where even on ultra low graphics i run 50 fps and 40 on servers with a lot of entities.
I would think my cpu should be upgraded, but im not quite sure.

CPU
AMD FX-8150
Zambezi 32nm Technology
RAM
16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 1203MHz
Motherboard
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. CROSSHAIR V FORMULA-Z
Graphics
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (ASUStek Computer Inc)
Storage
447GB KINGSTON SA400S37480G (SATA-2 (SSD))
931GB Seagate ST1000DM010-2EP102 (SATA )

Solution
Why should i upgrade my motherboard, does it affect fps in gaming?
Because it's ancient technology by today's standards. While just a CPU upgrade is possible (FX 8350/FX9590 etc...), it is NOT recommended and provides only a minimal performance increase. Since that path is not recommended, a new motherboard is required for newer CPUs.

If i buy a CPU for the motherboard i have now does the cpu cooling i have now fit it or does it need to be replaced. It is a Nepton 120XL watercooled.
No. The CPU Cooler uses the CPU Socket, not the CPU itself, to determine compatibility. So any AMD Socket AM3+ motherboard can use that CPU Cooler. Now some CPU coolers have adapters that allow it to be used on multiple CPU sockets and...

A few questions:)
Why should i upgrade my motherboard, does it affect fps in gaming?
If i buy a CPU for the motherboard i have now does the cpu cooling i have now fit it or does it need to be replaced. It is a Nepton 120XL watercooled.
I'am able to boost the cpu to 4.6 Ghz and i see the cpu u sent had 6 cores a while mine has 8. Why is my cpu "bad".
Sorry for the questions, I'm just trying to understand a little bit:)

No. The CPU Cooler uses the CPU Socket, not the CPU itself, to determine compatibility. So any AMD Socket AM3+ motherboard can use that CPU Cooler. Now some CPU coolers have adapters that allow it to be used on multiple CPU sockets and according to the information I'm finding, yours would be compatible with the newer motherboard (socket 1151). Here is the complete list of compatible CPU sockets I found:
  • AM2
  • AM2+
  • AM3
  • AM3+
  • AM4
  • FM1
  • FM2
  • FM2+
  • LGA1150
  • LGA1151
  • LGA1155
  • LGA1156
  • LGA1200
  • LGA1366
  • LGA2011
  • LGA2011-3
  • LGA2066
  • LGA775
I'am able to boost the cpu to 4.6 Ghz and i see the cpu u sent had 6 cores a while mine has 8. Why is my cpu "bad"
Because it's much older technology. Think of it like a car engine. How would a 8-cylinder engine from the 1950s (if one existed) compare to a 6-cylider engine from today?

Sorry for the questions, I'm just trying to understand a little bit

I would say you can use your current power supply. It had no issues powering your old system, so it shouldn't have any issues powering the new one.
Old CPU - 125watt
New CPU - 65watt

Also should i buy one ram stick 16 gb of the one you listed or 2x8 gb of the one you listed? Because 2x8 is more expensive for some reason?
Also is it possible to mix ram sticks of different MHz and brand, like could i use my old sticks as well?

Your current motherboard is the same form-factor as the new motherboard (ATX). This is an industry standard, so an ATX form-factor case will accept ANY ATX form-factor motherboard,

No. Your old RAM is not compatible with your new motherboard,
No. With DDR4 it is NEVER a good idea to mix and match RAM. Always purchase RAM in kits.
We've had people purchase 1x8GB DDR4 RAM modules and then a couple weeks later, purchase a second one of the exact same model and have compatibility issues.

Alright, i just bought 1 16gb stick and i'm guessing i also have to buy some paste for the cpu.
Thank you so much for all the help!
Such is your choice, but I would have stuck with the recommendation of purchasing a 2x8GB kit. You'd run in Dual-Channel Mode which is a bit faster.
As for the CPU Thermal Paste, yes. You will need some for installing your current CPU Cooler. Be sure to clean the old paste from the heat sink with Isopropyl alcohol (91% - if available) before applying new paste.

It is kinda screwed up because it made a clicking noice, but it works fine and i just cleaned it today. before my cpu was around 70 almost 80 when overclocked and after i cleaned it, the temps were much better, not going over 60.
