I still have a USB driver problem as listed in this forum, (DRIVER PROBLEM ? any help please)

In my universal serial bus controllers section within my medion akoya computer windows 7 64bit - I find several items duplicated for example
standard enhanced pci to usb host controller.....x 2
standard open hcd usb host controller .....x 5
usb root hub.......x 7

PS may I appologise for posting this in capitals, just a simple error didnt mean to disregard toms rules ...sory

Can you give me the direction as how to rename, I didnt see an option within the field and as you have learnt - this is a new direction for me

Can you lead me to File Manager
ie is it in location of device manager or somewherelese

I will come back to this tomorrow thanks so far

I start windows, tried left and also right click on Computer
I have not found file manager
I must be misunderstanding your guidance or missing the icon, can you expand to be exact.

Left click to open the window.
That will get you an Explorer window that will let you manage disks, folders and files.
You should probably make your hidden folders and files visible for this type of work. From the Tools menu, choose Folder options. There choose View and choose the Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives. Use Apply button.

For a few hints on Explorer - see if this helps

Folowing was the path
Open-Computer-Organise=FolderOptions-View - selected show hidden filel - Apply ...
At this stage where will I located the required file

I am missing something - I will need a lik.

I can get to the exact screenshot image - it will only let me highlight each of the two entrys whichever left or right click no change path is given - yes I am clearly missing something

Right, thanks I got to this and when I R-clich it highlight there in the usbfilter.sys box - can you give me the exact change to enter (i think you gave me two changes I assume the highlighted box will only accept one- advise)

Looking at this once again it seems that you would like me to change

usbfilter.sys to Ousbfilter.bak
and
USBSTOR.SYS to OUSBSTOR.bak

(Is this correct and are the letters case sensitive ie exact as given by you)

I completed the above BUT

For the change USBSTOR.SYS The computer gave File access denied you should get permission from ..Trustinstaller to perform this action. tried to repeat this but would go into change.
The usbfilter.sys change occured and was re listed as Ousbfilter.bak

I looked at the driver image again and now it shows only the lower entry not two as had been earlier (ref your screenshot above)

Awaiting further direction

It took it back despite all I tried. (The USBSTOR.SYS remains listed as just that without any changes which I had attempted)
The only change effected has been the usbfilter.sys to Ousbfilter.bak which shows up in the files but dosnt show anything on the actual usb device drive
entry

See next image of current driver file details
