What should I upgrade in my gaming pc

I am looking to upgrade some parts in my gaming pc because it is a couple of years old now, but I am not sure which parts need upgraded the most. Any help would be appreciated! I don't really have a budget, more just curious what needs replaced the most.

Processor: Intel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
Motherboard: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
Graphics card: Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series (4 x 2GB)
Case: Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower
Power supply: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W

I believe that your CPU is a generation old so you may want to think about getting a new one. Your graphics card is still capable of playing the latest of games so you do not really need to upgrade there and everything else seems to be fine. What operating system are you running? Could you upgrade to Windows 8?

I am currently running on Windows 7. I could upgrade to Windows 8. What are the benefits of upgrading to Windows 8?

Not really many benefits for gamers but in general use you will have a new and improved interface, easier configuration and a large range of choice in apps.

I was thinking about getting a GeForce GTX760. The only thing Im worried about is that my power supply is only 500w. Would there be an issue with that low of wattage?

For a 760 I generally recommend a 500 with about 30 AMPs on the 12 volt, check the label on the PSU should provide the info - and if thinking the 760 might look at the Asus with the CU cooling design, good card and priced well

I was thinking about getting a GeForce GTX760. The only thing Im worried about is that my power supply is only 500w. Would there be an issue with that low of wattage?

500Watts may be pushing the PSU a bit so yes, you may want to think about get a 600W.

I agree with Tradesman1 if you have to upgrade.

If you have w7 you don't need to upgrade,anything older i would advice it,but this still is good.

Edit,

Just saw your post,the corsair wil run a gtx 760 with no problems.The i5 2500 doesn't use that much,at max maybe 100watt,and it can't be overclocked so will not use more and the gtx 760 uses 170watt at max,without overclocking.
I don't think your system will use more than 200watt in real life=games.
