What solutions do you recommend for saving/copying text messages from an iOS device? There's lots of 3rd party software avail

I'm looking for solutions to download texts from my and co-workers' iphones to archive for legal reasons. Needs to keep within a teacher's personal budget (free or close to it). Bonus points for cross-platform (OSX / Win 7) and / or working with Android phones also.

I have no idea of what software to recommend...but:

Co-workers
Teachers
Legal

Unless these are company supplied devices (capture everything), how will you differentiate between personal text messages, and those text messages which should be captured related to the workplace?
