What temp does your Athlon XP run at?

I have a Athlon XP 1800+.
It runs at 40c idle and 44c maxload.
I have 2 80 mm intakefans that blows air into the case ant directy on to the cpu.
i think this temp is really good.
Without the fans my cpu runs at 45c idle and 60c maxload.

You don't need to unlock the CPU to overclock.

Just try rising the FSB from 133 to 138 MHz to begin. Test the system and see the temps and then again a little bit.
Just be sure that you know how to make a CMOS clear in case the computer doesn't boot up.

Answer: Whatever it wants to. It doesnt matter provided it doesnt lockup. Also dependent on the room temperature.

I have a AthlonXP 1900+ (Palomino core)

it idles at anywhere from 38-42

and loads at 44

that's in a Coolermaster ATC-201 Al case with 4 case fans
and a Globalwin CAK4-88T thermal control HSF.

my 1800 ran with an idle of 38 C and a max load of 48 C using a thermaltake volcano 7...WITHOUT THERMAL GREASE?!?!?
I know it's crazy but that's what my motherboard monitor showed for the abit kr7a. A word of caution on gigabyte boards: I used the easytune4 utility to overclock and the motherboard's temp. monitor showed AN IMMEDIATE 8C JUMP WITH A 1 MHZ FSB INCREMENT....woooo, scary. Thermaltake volcano 7+ supposed to be even cooler, but a lot louder.

BTW , before my mobo went poof, my 1800+ ran at 41 idle 55 max, with a copper swiftech and a tip powered fan.
and my room gets warm, its in the attic.

You dont have an <b>ANY</b> key? Your keyboard must not be Windows XP certified...
 
AXP 2200+...is 60 degrees when playing 3D games like CS a bad temp??? btw am using Volcano 7+ and it's set at medium fan speed at around 4800 rpm...

on High fan speed setting idle temp is 42 degrees...good or bad?
 
CPU: Athlon XP2100+
Temperatures: 45C normal, 50C under full load, room temperature 28 - 30C.
HSF: Alpha PAL 8045, 84cfm Vantec Tornado

Well technically Full Load is 100% cpu usage AND all ALU, FLU and extended pipelines filled with instructions.

The first is easy to do, but the second doesnt happen too often, Thus 100% of prime95 may give a slightly different temperature to 100% of seti@home as they use different instructions that may or may not use some pipelines.

There is a program, designed for AMD cpu's only, that fully stresses all the pipes.
Its called Toast, And it makes my CPU at least 2-4C hotter than any other 'burn in' application. the idea stress testing aplication.

I have the same processor, mine idles around 37c and 40c full load, i am using a alpha heat sink, i have 2 side intake fans, one front intake fan, and 2 rear exaust fans.

I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE,,<--- comes out of the closet screaming i am an AMD bieocth fan boy..
 
Excuse me if my English is funny, but its my second language.
By "full load" I mean 100% cpu utilization for a prolonged period of time, like when I'm playing 3D games or using PKZIP to compress 100GB of video files.

i got my XP 1800 down to 98f idle wityh a 6kRPM fan and a vantec copper sink with ASII and a room temp around 75f in an antec SX1040 4x80mm fans. it ran maxload at 113.
i took the fan off cuz it was TOO FRIGGIN LOUD! and put a 3k fan in it.
