what the heck is PC2-4300?

Ok, so i am looking at my dell motherboard specs and it says it takes PC2-4300, so i then went looking at what this is. However, all i found out was it is exactly the same as pc2-4200 but has a different name??

Anyone? Isnt mentioned anywhere really :idea:

Perhaps PC2-4300 is simply a variant of PC2-4200. Someone reading this will likely know. Try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR2_SDRAM for more information on RAM.

B is right. Given PC2-xxxx and equivalent DDR2-yyy, xxxx = yyy * 8. So, for DDR2-533, 533 * 8 = 4264, which would be PC2-4264. However, that's not a nice round number, so most manufacturers round it off to PC2-4200, while others call it PC2-4300.
