I have an interesting problem here. I have windows 98 se and everytime my computers monitor goes in standby mode and the hard drive goes into green mode, i'll move the mouse and it all turns back on. But when then monitor displays the windows desktop, its split and i can see the mouse cursor on both sides. Also the font is huge. I can still operate windows like normal, the mouse works also. To get it back to normal i would reboot the computer, but when windows was dont show then screen that says "Windows is now restarting" it will go to a black screen and a message will be displayed that says PCI I/O base is not avaible, please reboot your computer to amke the system work normally. This will be in a large font like 72 point, similar to what it looked like in windows. It will also do another thing when coming out of green mode, the display will be fine, but when i click on the start button for instance, the whole windows desktop will shake and it will be all distored for about a half second. Windows still works fine, but anything i click on will make the screen go crazy. I will log off of my windows name and then sign back in to windows and everything will be fine. Now what could the problem be. It started doing this when i formated my harddrive to remove win2k and installed windows 98. I DID update the drivers for my Gforce2 mx card, with no luck.🙁
My computer:
duron 700 Asus a7v with v4 bios
Gforce2 MX
128 mb 133 sdram
8.4 hard drive
dont know of anything else you would need. tell me if you do.
