What to do with old steering wheel for pc

I have old Smartbox steering wheel for pc. PC recognize the steering wheel is always going in left but its on middle. Can i somehow fix it or take some parts like gear shift and somehow upgrade my new steering wheel?

I, personally, would have a little fun with it. Take it apart and see how it works, where the contact points inside are, clean them all up and see if I could put it back together.

It's already broken... if you're considering it written off, you can't break it further

If you don't feel comfortable ripping into it, check to see if there's a way to recalibrate it. Your issue reminds me of older consoles, where if you held the control stick in a direction while starting the game, it'd think that position is dead center and cause your controls to be screwy.
