I am building a new pc very soon and I am wondering what card setup I should get for the new rig. I will be gaming on a 60Hz 24'' LED Acer monitor at 1920x1080p. I want to be able to get all ultra settings in all games and not have to worry about slowdowns and stuff like that. I have also thought about, alot, a mid-range multi-gpu setup that would give me better performance then a GTX 680 and costs less, such as a GTX 660 ti SLI or 7870 GHz CFX solution. What is the best bang for the buck right now?

GTX 670/680 or 7970 GHz then huh. I guess I should go by the best deal then for one of those cards? I had an ASUS GTX 670 Top Edition on my other rig. It served me well. I kind of want a better card than that, an upgrade, so basically it's between a 7970 GHz or 680. Any recommendations?

That 670 is almost the best single-gpu card you're going to get, you'll have maybe, just maybe 10% more performance from that overclocked 680, personally I'd wait just a bit longer and see if youo can get a card from the next series from either AMD or Nvidia if you're looking for performance, as they are right around the corner.

What about the XFX Double D 7970 GHz Edition? The newest Catalyst Drivers are actually putting the cards ahead of 680. Plus it has 3GB of Ram, I don't need 4GB for a single 24'' 1080p resolution and 60Hz. It also costs less money.
