Hi all.

I currently have this set up. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FYLKbv

(H440 case now + added a 250gb hdd that I found laying around + one of the 980s is SC while the other one is non SC.)

The non SC can easily run at 1500mhz but the SC version crashes even if it's overclocked a bit so i'm running them at 1450mhz for now.

The 4790k is not OC since it's air cooled and I don't really see the need for it. It runs idle at 30-45c just fine. If I OC it 4.6 it will be idling at 60c so might as well keep it stock.

Anyways, to get the point. What monitor should i get? those 1440p 144hz IPS monitors that are supposedly coming soon or a 4k IPS G synce that is also coming soon.

I feel like i'm wasting my computer specs using a 1080p monitor. I don't game a lot, my most hour spent on a game was 20 hours on shadow of mordor if that tells you something.

I'm really leaning towards the 4k side but everyone is saying 4k is still not "there yet."

So what do you think?
ROG SWIFT PG27AQ Or Acer XB270HU

You could get a 4k monitor but they're pretty expensive. It's about $350 for the cheapest monitor. It's about $600 for an IPS 4k monitor and that's what you want for the best quality. Hold out on 4k until at least this summer when hopefully prices will drop. Unless $600 is within you budget then I would get the 4k monitor.

1440p is a better option for a lower budget. It has better quality than 1080p but doesn't cost an arm and a leg. There's also more to choose from.

Money isn't an issue, I just want to get the most out of my GPU if you know what I mean. I will probably just wait until some decent reviews comes out. Everyone says 1440p is really only for competitive play since it's 144hz and 1ms

If money isn't an issue then get a 4k 27" or higher IPS monitor. But since 4k monitors now are still in the early stages it's not worth it just yet. It'll be better in the long run to wait it out. Wait until at least 1 or 2 4k monitors are <2ms response time, IPS and G-Sync under $600. Then you will know that most of the issues are fixed and that its not a waste of money.

Yeah, I'm going to wait it out a bit for those 4k IPS G sync monitors and check out those 1440p monitors as well. I probably wouldn't spend more than 700 on a monitor might just play the waiting game.
